As the weather warms up, dining al fresco and barbeques in the sun can make it all too easy for the drinks to slip down.

However, enjoying a tipple or two doesn’t have to ruin your weight loss efforts.

Online healthy food retailer MuscleFood.com has put together a list of some of the most popular high-calorie alcoholic drinks that could be ruining your diet, along with more waistline-friendly alternatives.

From Champagne over Chardonnay to martinis over mojitos, scroll down to see the nine worst things you can drink for your diet, along with the calorie count per drink — and what you should be drinking instead.

With an ingredient list that contains vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec, and coke, it’s no wonder that a typical 420ml glass of Long Island contains a whopping 424 calories.

A Cosmopolitan has much less alcohol and only a small amount of cranberry juice, meaning a typical 250ml martini glass contains only 100 calories — less than a quarter of a Long Island.

Pina Coladas are the perfect beachside cocktail, but thanks to the added coconut and pineapple mixers, these drinks regularly contain a high calorie count of around 300 calories per 230ml.

A Fuzzy Navel contains just peach schnapps and orange juice, making it an ideal fruity replacement at around 120 calories per 115ml drink.

Mojitos are a summertime favourite, but thanks to the sugar syrup a typical 230ml glass can contain as many as 242 calories.

A Martini has no additional mixers, meaning that a 250ml glass only contains a measly 70 calories — providing you don’t eat the olive, of course.

Recently, however, a few people worked hard to spread the word about this behavior they call abusive, and the internet is infuriated.

According to experts, a fennec’s food in the wild is comprised of about 90% swine and insects while the remaining 10% consists of various bushes they dig up. Naturally, they need a lot of protein when living in confinement as well. Coercing her omnivore Jumanji on a vegan menu merely, Sae has apparently messed up its part nutrition. For pattern, fennecs genuinely need calcium and taurine. The latter is an organic complex that’s widely distributed in animal materials. Without it, these big-eared mortals is very likely to develop reproduction and middle troubles. And this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Sae has already has recognised that Jumanji is half blind, suffered from spontaneous tumults and a severe skin condition. However, she refuses the idea that its diet is a cause of these problems. “They use the word ‘abuse’ to describe the purposes of the act of feeding[ it] meat that no swine had to die for. Despite the self-evident oxymoron, any other non-vegan alternative DOES commit insult by default, ” she said in a Facebook post.

People have already contacted regional animal freedoms authorities and are waiting for their response.

Deli counters of the world — listen up.

For as long as I can retain( about two years, since I no longer remember anything before Trump ), wraps have been orientation near the apex of the lunch hierarchy. I cannot tell you the number of corporate summits I’ve accompanied where low-toned sodium, corn-heavy, semi-frozen veggie packages were the only lunch item offered. Heads of HR told us we should be grateful for them because they were free and since this is health. What a lie.

America is already immense, sure, but I must admit it was a little bit better in the pre-chicken caesar salad wrapping age, when hearty hero sandwiches were king. Read more …

Homemade Apricot-Coconut Paleo Protein Bars (GAPS, Whole30, like RX Bars)

If you haven’t heard, RX Bars are a minimalist entire nutrient bar that consists of years for sweetness, nuts for composition, and egg whites for protein, and sea salt for flavor and essential electrolytes. They’re also about$ 2 each, pricing them out of my budget in most cases.

DIY Rx Bars

The ingredients are rostered right on the pack, and after a few trial runs and complete busts, I saw the secrets to acquiring these disallows savour great, deem their contour, and come together easily.

There are recipes around the web for similar disallows, but they don’t hold water at area temperature. The key to getting a forbid that isn’t a sticky mess at the end of your hike or mid work-day is to use the dehydrator to remove excess sweat and slightly caramelize the carbohydrate from the dates.

I use this dehydrator weekly, and daily during the late summer when we’re saving display for the winter. A dehydrator can be used to attain yogurt, fruit skin, crispy seeds, dried outcome, and more.

Oven Option

I haven’t tried this recipe in the oven, but I think if you baked the bars on the lowest specify of your oven on a cool rack for about an hour, you would get a same cause. If “were trying” it, I’d love to know how it works in the comments!

Ingredients worked

Rx Bars employ egg white for protein. I chose to use collagen( find here) instead, as I prefer to eat egg whites with their yolks. This is also helpful for my numerous egg-free readers who want a treat.

I too drenched and dehydrated my seeds( read more about this here) prior to determining the bars. This improves digestibility but is an optional step.

The key to preserving the flavor of the apricots rather than having everything there is be mush is to dry your apricots before you perform the bars. You can purchase dried outcome from the amount containers of most health food stores, or dry your own at the same experience you fix crispy seeds as we talked about above.

Whole30 Notes

“The spirit of Whole3 0”( read more about Entire 30 here) vetoes baked goods and candy-bar-like foods. I be considered that these rails are kind of propagandizing relevant rules, but technically the ingredients abused are tolerated on Whole3 0.

Everyone needs to focus on protein, fresh grow, and home-cooked actual meals for the majority of their banquets. But some days, weeks, or situations merely beg for the purposes of an easy-to-eat shelf-stable speedy energy sources. These bars are excellent for that.

Recipe

Homemade Coconut-Apricot Protein Bar( copycat RX Bar) Print Prep duration 15 mins Cook time 12 hours Total day 12 hours 15 mins Honied with dates, and with a protein elevate from collagen, these barrooms can be a meal substitution in a pinch. The rich chocolate flavor is promoted with a disperse of sea salt. Columnist: Cara Comini Recipe type: Snack Cuisine: Paleo, GAPS, Whole3 0 Helps: 10 Ingredients 1.5 bowls( about 12 massive) times, pits removed( find now) 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 1/2 cup crispy almonds( see how to stimulate now) 1/2 bowl crispy cashews( purchase cashew patches to save money)( see how to spawn now) 5 scoops( 10 tablespoons) Collagen Powder( NOT GELATIN)( find here) 1 bowl dried apricots( find additive-free baked apricots now . Note: If there aren’t additives, oxidation will cause them to form dark-brown but they will still be savory !) 1 beaker coconut flakes or shredded unsweetened coconut( find now) Directions Place all ingredients except for the coconut and apricots in a food processor and process until a ball forms, about 2-3 minutes. Pulse in apricots and coconut to chop and mingle. Deter a hand on your food processor as the dense lettuce can cause it to ‘walk’ on the countertop. Carefully remove blade, and then scoop dough onto parchment paper( find parchment newspaper here) to roll out. Gently pat into a rectangle appearance. Roll to hope thickness( I like a little less than 1/2 -inch) between two membranes of parchment newspaper. Remove top sheet of parchment article and fling onto a dehydrator tray. Dry the whole membrane of protein barrooms for 6-12 hours or overnight on high, until no longer tacky. You can bounce this step and go straight to chipping into tables, but it’s easier to cut into even forbids after drying for a short while. After no longer dowdy, allow expanse of dough to cool for 30 hours to firm it up. Then throw onto a large cutting board and cut into 10 even rectangles and return to dehydrator tray. If your pierce is attaching, get your spear sodden and then try again. Dehydrate for another 4 hours or overnight, depending on how hard you miss your bars to be( longer dehydrating age relents more firm protein prohibits ). Bars will firm up again when they refrigerate. Store in an airtight receptacle in the fridge for up to 1 month. These will hold up fine at apartment temperature for tenting, hiking, etc. Notes This recipe compiles 10 bars, but I generally simply get 8 rectangle-shaped saloons, after snipping the edges of the dough to make a rectangle. My boys adore these 4 strips from the outside as well, they’re just not precise rectangles. 3.5.3226
